My Beloved Soul
Come to me just as you are. Come to me in your confusion, in your fearful times, and with all your questions. It is in those times and places that I await your call. Never forget that you are made in my image and likeness...made to be fit for this journey of faith. Your doubts are the devil’s work.
If you feel confused and fearful, remember Jesus shared those same emotions as He carried the cross. If you are afraid of tomorrow, remember His desperate prayers in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus, a man of great faith, questioned the burden He was asked to carry. In bearing those painful emotions, Jesus shared in your humanity. He knows firsthand about your human weaknesses but he also knows your Godly ability to win against temptation. Confusion, fear, and worry will tempt you away from your prayers, away from My wisdom, away from knowing you are My great concern. Come to me and lay your burdens down.
Come to me, My Beloved Soul
"Ask and you will receive. Seek, and you will find. Knock and it will be open to you. For the one who asks, receives. The one who seeks finds. The one who knocks enters." Matthew 9:7-8
My Beloved Soul
You are not meant to be overwhelmed by life. Call on my mercy to lighten your burden. Let me show you the easy way, the way of peace amidst turmoil, the way of trust amid uncertainty and the way of love in challenging times. My love wants to answer all your questions, it wants to calm all your fears and help you to find a breath of joy in all things. My grace wants to turn your humanness into holiness. Then you will simply expect my mercy and it will be yours.
“So let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and favor and to find help in time of need.” Hebrews 4: 16
My Beloved Soul,
The pain of feeling that you have failed and let me down should not linger on and on. Once the regret is noted and forgiveness asked for, that is when your faith in me must become stronger. Strive to believe in my kind of love, a love that forgives and embraces you now, in this moment, in this place. Living in your past regrets keeps you from doing the work I have ready for you today. That work is your faithfullness in action and the only way for you to fulfill the plans I made for you so long ago. None of your failures will ever change the value of your gifts or diminish the beauty of the soul I formed in your mother’s womb.
“For I am certain of this: neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nothing already in existence and nothing still to come, nor any power, nor the heights nor the depths, nor any created thing whatever, will be able to come between us and the love of God, known to us in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
MY BELOVED SOUL.......
If you draw yourself away from the world by the simple act of putting aside the things that call to be done and walk towards prayer time..... heaven rejoices. Whether in silence or in words, you have joined the angels for that moment in time. Know that you need those moments, away and alone, with Me. Know that when you put aside the world for prayer time, you gain the grace and strength to live in the world. But remember too, that when I hear those prayers lifted in the middle of your busyness, the prayers that spring forth from your soul in those moments between moments, I rejoice in your faithful heart.
Prayer may not save us, but prayer makes us worth saving.
Abraham Joshua Heschel
My Beloved Soul,
When the mind is still, the soul breathes.
I want our quiet time together to refresh you. I want that silence to take you away from all that is tiring you, all that is distracting you, all that the world is wanting from you. Come into the quiet. Be still. Surrender your worries, your striving to figure things out, and let our quiet prayer time refresh you. Let your soul breathe you into my presence. I am here.
O Lord, my heart is not proud, nor are my eyes haughty;......I busy not myself with great things, nor with things too sublime for me. ...... Nay, rather I have stilled and quieted my soul like a weaned child. ........ Like a weaned child on its mother’s lap, (so is my soul within me) Psalm 131: l-2
MY BELOVED SOUL
How difficult it is for you to see yourself as I see you. I don't see the wounded self, I see the healed self. I don't see the weak self, I see the strong soul at the core of who you are in me. I don't see the questioning spirit, I see the listening spirit, the one whose heart is open to love. I don't see you searching for answers, I see you in search of my truth for you. I am beside you, healing you, giving you strength, guiding you. I see you only as My Beloved Soul.
“We know that God makes all things work together for those who love God and are called according to his decree........What shall we say after that? If God is for us,who can be against us?" Romans 8: 28, 31
My Beloved Soul
My son knew what it would take to change people’s hearts. He knew that in order to save you in every way, it would take his sacrifice on the cross. He knew the depth of your hurt and your unforgiveness. And so he gave himself up to the crowds, lived out his words of love for you right to the end. Walk lightly. Let go of your tiresome burdens. My son gave his life so that you might enjoy the forgiven life. Don’t let him down.
My Beloved Soul
Thank you for your faithfulness to prayer. That quiet space that you and I share enables you to find the wisdom and strength to handle life’s problems. And when you leave the quiet time and step back into the world, you take with you a peace the world cannot give. That peace then finds its way into the lives of those around you. From Me to you to those I give you, I send the peace that passeth all understanding.
May the Lord give strength to his people; may the Lord bless his people with peace. Ps. 29:11
Doing good, being kindhearted and compassionate to others is a saintly way of life. But that way of life must be balanced with being good, kindhearted and compassionate with yourself. Stop thinking that saying no once in a while is a selfish act. I am calling you to freedom from all the “shoulds” and “have to’s” that you have allowed into your life. When you can let go of those lies, then and only then will you know what your soul needs for nourishment. I am sending you the grace you will need to discern your truth.
God help us to live slowly: To move simply: To look softly: To allow emptiness: To let the heart create for us. Amen - Prayer by Michael Leunig
Why do you try so hard?
Why do you put so much pressure on yourself about so many things?
The only pressure you need to feel is my loving touch. And that touch is gentle and life giving. I want you to live slower, let your life flow and unfold gracefully. Don’t try to prove yourself perfect.
Take care of yourself, my beloved soul.
“In prayer.....come empty.......do nothing.”
~St. John of the Cross
Saint James, pray for us that we may be willing to leave everything to follow Jesus as you did. Help us to become special friends of Jesus as you were. Amen
