Doing good, being kindhearted and compassionate to others is a saintly way of life. But that way of life must be balanced with being good, kindhearted and compassionate with yourself. Stop thinking that saying no once in a while is a selfish act. I am calling you to freedom from all the “shoulds” and “have to’s” that you have allowed into your life. When you can let go of those lies, then and only then will you know what your soul needs for nourishment. I am sending you the grace you will need to discern your truth.
God help us to live slowly: To move simply: To look softly: To allow emptiness: To let the heart create for us. Amen - Prayer by Michael Leunig
Why do you try so hard?
Why do you put so much pressure on yourself about so many things?
The only pressure you need to feel is my loving touch. And that touch is gentle and life giving. I want you to live slower, let your life flow and unfold gracefully. Don’t try to prove yourself perfect.
Take care of yourself, my beloved soul.
“In prayer.....come empty.......do nothing.”
~St. John of the Cross
In every question, in every emotion, in every moment of despair, trust in me. Believe in my guidance. Know that I am the answer in your questions; I am the peace in your emotions; I am your comfort in desperate times. I want you to know that I am guiding you always, even when you can’t let go. Grasp onto my hand and let me show you the way. I will lead you in everything.
“Prayer of Protection”
The light of God surrounds me; The love of God enfolds me; The power of God protects me; The presence of God watches over me. Wherever I am, God is.
You are meant to love yourself. You are meant to be kind to yourself. Do something today that feeds the beautiful soul you are. Make a little pilgrimage toward what gives you rest from your worries and fears. Remember the more you are doing for others, the more you need to be doing good things for yourself. I want you to have more joy!
“When I say “My foot is slipping,” your kindness, O Lord sustains me; when cares abound within me, your comfort gladdens my soul.” Psalm 94: 18,19
Saint James, pray for us that we may be willing to leave everything to follow Jesus as you did. Help us to become special friends of Jesus as you were. Amen
